The Beginning (Or Something Like It)

I’d love to tell you this site started with a spark of inspiration ,a clear vision, a smooth plan, and a perfectly timed montage of me pulling it all together.

Something à la rom-com: upbeat music, a few quick cuts of me juggling motherhood, career, and life, sipping wine or coffee (sometimes both), and somehow looking effortlessly cinematic.

But that’s not quite the story.

Like most of my life ,and probably yours too if you are here, this space was born from feeling more than planning.
From trial and error. From transformation. From living between places, seasons, and versions of myself.

Who I Am (Depending on the Day)

I’m Sophie. I am woman, a mother, a wife, a traveler, a writer, a tarot reader, and a cappuccino drinker.
Sometimes all at once.

Like many of you, I’m a walking contradiction ,multi-layered, multi-passionate, never fitting neatly into one box.

I’ve lived a thousand versions of myself:
the barefoot boho backpacker,
the workaholic who burned out,
the hopeless romantic,
the realist,
the mother,
the woman meeting herself again… and again… and again.

How This All Began

The Here and There Life was born from that realization that no box is the place.
It’s about being whole.

I’m a French-Canadian married to a Peruvian mariner.
Our love lives between coastlines and time zones, languages and rhythms, yet it works.

We’re parents to a curious, magic-filled little girl we’re raising with as much wonder as routine, in our home and on the road.

The Beliefs That Anchor Me

I believe in movement , literal and emotional.
When life feels off, I walk, dance, travel, write, I move.

I believe in Love. The kind that’s messy, magnetic, mysterious, and powerful.
And I believe in living, not waiting for everything to look perfect before it’s allowed to feel good.

Motherhood cracked my heart open and showed me I could hold it all: the soft, the strong, the silly.
(It also stole my sleep, but let’s not be dramatic.)

Now, I juggle motherhood, work, travel plans, hair masks, and bedtime stories.
Some days I have it all together.
Some days I eat leftovers with my kid and call it fine dining.

Why This Space Exists

This site didn’t start as a perfectly scripted montage, but maybe it will create a few of its own.

It’s my in-between corner of the internet.
A place where every version of me (and maybe of you) can meet:
the grounded woman and the dreamer,
the mom and the muse,
the one who still believes in magic but also pays her bills.

Here, you’ll find reflections, rituals, travels, favorite finds, and real-life stories about creating a life that feels like yours, not perfect, but personal.

Because we can be it all:
the Love, the Ambition, the Mess, the Magic.

Here, there, and everywhere, all at once.
